a customized version of Linux Kernel. It is owned by Google and was launched in
2007. Now, it is the most widely used operating system on smartphones all
over the world and is currently running on more than 80% smartphones in the world.

What does Android do for you?
As a software, the job of Android is to work as a translator between you and
your phone (It can be a tablet or smart watch too). When you click some button on
your phone, it determines that what task will be performed by that button. If you
touch the camera icon, it tells the camera of your phone to start. And same
scenario works for your other tasks too.
