Major New Features of Android 10

With Android 10, Google offers a new major update for its mobile operating system.  Its more than 10 years after the launch of the mobile operating system.

Dark Theme:

With Android 10, Google finally offers a dark mode for the system interface. Manufacturers were already offering a dark mode with their interfaces, like Samsung with OneUI and it is a good news that now it is adopted natively by Google with Android 10. This should also motivate application developers to support this mode.

Gesture Navigation on Android 10:

Google introduced gesture navigation with android Pie but in Android 10, the navigation has been completely revised. 
It is now similar to what is already known on Huawei or Xiaomi smartphones, namely that a sliding of the sides of the screen corresponds to "Back", a slip from the bottom to the top returns to the home, and staying supported in this context opens up multitasking.


Live Caption with Android 10:

with Live Caption, the system is now able to display in text any video, any podcast, any sound message. A feature as convenient for the deaf and hard of hearing as for those looking to watch videos discreetly in a meeting.

Security patches will go through the Play Store:

One of the big problems with Android is the availability of updates. Google has worked to make this easier and Android 10 is the first update that makes a big step in this direction.
The security patches are distributed by the Google Play Store directly now.

Control on Permissions:

The application permissions has been revised to give users more control. Now you can choose to have the location turned off, enabled only when the requesting application is in use, or constantly enabled.

Support for foldable smartphones:

Google announced that foldable smartphones will be supported natively by Android With Android 10.

Improved Sharing Menu:

The sharing menu of Android has always been one of its strengths, but it was slow to start since some versions.
With Android 10, Google launches the "Sharing Shortcuts". It's just a new way for developers to tell the system how shares should run on their application and on which menu. Thanks to this, the sharing menu now starts instantly.


Customization and Themes:

Android 10 hides in its developer options new customization options . You can edit the system's accent color, the shape of the icons, and the font of the title and body of the default text. It also offers theming options in which you can change the color of your system accent. currently these colors are available: BlackGreen, Purple, Cinnamon, Ocean, Space and Orchid.


Screen Recording in Android 10:

Many manufactures allow to record live what is happening on its screen. With Android 10, this feature is integrated natively.
